The new official trailer for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has just dropped, inviting us to revisit the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games. The story begins on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is directed by Francis Lawrence and based on a screenplay by Billy Ray, adapted from Suzanne Collins’ 2025 novel of the same name. Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson serve as producers, alongside Francis Lawrence.
Joseph Zada stars as Haymitch, joined by Elle Fanning as Effie, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch, Maya Hawke as Wiress, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee, Ralph Fiennes as Snow, Glenn Close as Drusilla Sickle, and Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, among others.

We’re incredibly proud of our Ánima Stillking Films crew, who helped bring this latest instalment of the Hunger Games franchise to life in Spain last year, and we can’t wait for everyone to see it in theatres and IMAX on November 20, 2026.
